Lenovo IdeaPad U110 Review
The Lenovo IdeaPad U110 is the newest product to come out of the IdeaPad family line. With its superior built and eclectic design, there is no wonder why everyone is making such a big deal about this notebook.
Design
A closer inspection of the laptop’s body will yield an excellent review since it is surprisingly solid and will not flex no matter how hard you press an area. IdeaPad U110 is out to prove that it is to be the most rugged laptop in the family. Design is also upbeat with this laptop because it features an etched aluminum display cover, more like an elaborate pattern of flowers and vines, which Lenovo calls as their “Tendril texture”.

Performance
The IdeaPad U110 will never be able to compete with a powerful desktop but it allows users to run office applications and general web browsing activities. With its Intel 1.60GHz Core 2 Duo L7500 processor, running these applications will be a breeze. But if you are a heavy 3D graphics application fan, then this notebook is not for you because it is not cut out for the job. However, you can still play light games with its Intel X3100 integrated graphic. One thing to watch out for is that the hard disk of the IdeaPad U110 is a slow 4200rpm making it much slower than other notebooks out in the market.
Screen & Sounds
The IdeaPad U110 11.1” WXGA screen is bright for most users and while this is an advantage for some, it proves to be a frustrating especially during long exposures. The screen is also very reflective that it can cause eye strain problems because of the constant adjustment between the reflections and the actual things on the screen. Even then, colors are displayed accurately in the U110’s screen.
Both the keyboard and palm rest of the U110 is smooth and nicely textured, resulting to an excellent finish. Speakers are also optimal in performance and are free from static – just perfect for regular sound applications.
Security
What’s missing in the U110’s security feature is the traditional biometric fingerprint scan that most Lenovo notebooks have, instead in its place is a VeriFace application, which uses the notebook’s camera to identify the user and give access. This is a very impressive feature though it can cause a small amount of delay in the start-up process.
Heat, Noise & Battery Life
The heat and noise generated by the U110 is tolerable by its limits and battery life is acceptable at a maximum of approximately 6 hours of use.
Conclusion
This is one notebook that you will definitely not have regrets on if you get one; just beware though because it is a pricey one.
Don't miss this out!
