HP 2133 Mini Note Review

HP, the manufacturer of the 2133 Mini Note, insists that their smallest notebook is designed for kids. Upon checking out and testing the 2133 Mini Note, I beg to differ.

For one, it’s heavier than other mini laptops in its class. Its design is too high end—you’ll be compelled to always wrap it and be very careful in using it, because of its sleek, expensive-looking magnesium alloy shell and glossy, high-resolution screen.

Because of its high-resolution screen, mobile photo editing is possible. It can handle high quality images and other large files, because of its 120 GB hard drive, SD card slot, and USB socket.

For writers who prefer lighter, more mobile laptops, then the 2133 Mini Note is for you. It has a “borderless” keyboard that makes typing so much easier. It feels just like typing on a normal-sized notebook, without the bulk. If you need to publish or send your work, there’s an ExpressCard 54 slot for a 3G wireless internet card for you to go online and publish to your heart’s content.

With its 1.2 Ghz processor, it has difficulty in playing videos in full screen. Also, it makes online gaming an experience to forget. It becomes slow and choppy, and the slow processor will make your game lag.

The stereo speakers that the 2133 Mini Note is equipped with are quite good. It has good sound quality and doesn’t sound distorted or tinny.

As for the Mini Note’s battery life, its six-cell battery will only power it up for over four hours. With such a short time, you might think more than twice if you’d want to bring it with you to finish some work.
